Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Wind River would like to celebrate this year’s Giving Tuesday by encouraging you to donate to a cause that is meaningful to you. Here are a few causes that are close to our heart:

Hope & Healing For The Homeless

For the second year, EPB will raise awareness about how to help end homelessness by donating to the Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition’s Flexible Housing Fund. Contributions to the Flexible Housing Fund through EPB’s Connect For Good go directly to help people experiencing homelessness get back into permanent housing.

“During the first Connect For Good campaign, our community donated more than $67,000 to help people experiencing homelessness into homes, and we hope to raise even more this year for the Flexible Housing Fund,” said EPB President & CEO David Wade. “Our neighbors’ generosity continues to make our community a better place to live.”

Help Families in Need

The value of comfort, safety, and support is hard to equate to a price. At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga families can find all the amenities of their own home like a warm bed, fresh meals, and a place to do laundry. While a guest at RMHC, families get to put all their focus on what matters most- each other. We take care of all the rest, free of charge. While a price can’t summarize the impact, $150 provides a one night stay for families going through traumatic times.

When parents have a child in the hospital, the only thing they should have to focus on is the health and well being of their child.

Making Life Better for Childhood Cancer Families

During and after treatment, the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer is here to provide comprehensive coordinated care and unique solutions for all members of a family facing childhood cancer. Services provide children and families with the tools to cope in the present and thrive in the future after childhood cancer. Whether it’s grief counseling, occupational therapy, a parents day out, sibling tutoring, family counseling, trauma therapy or a night of community with others who have been through a similar story, AHF is here for whatever a family may need along their journey and beyond.

AHF is celebrating their 16th year as a nonprofit with an exciting Giving Tuesday goal: they’re asking everyone to contribute at least $16 to help reach a target of $6,000 (or more!).
